Two years ago, Polkadot launched the OpenGov system — not just a technical breakthrough, but a fundamental shift in governance. OpenGov introduced true transparency and community participation to the ecosystem. It improved governance efficiency while making the network even more decentralized.
With OpenGov, the Polkadot DAO now has far greater visibility into how the network evolves: from the details of each governance proposal, to the destination of every treasury expenditure, to the rationale behind each decision — and even the truth behind every controversy. For example, the 2024 Treasury Report offered, for the first time, a clear and detailed breakdown of fund flows for each project — making the ecosystem more transparent and governance more trustworthy.
